OPTIC NERVE

Originally created and performed by Anthony “Blaktony” Horton, Keith “K-1” Tucker, and later to include engineer Gerald “G-man” Sims…

The presentation of the music reflects the streets of Detroit in a cinamatic soundscape environment, taking advantage of the producers’ training in the various arts of concept and orchestral arrangements.
These recordings focused on the idealism of escapism by the use of sythesizers and string-lines to convey a futuristic view and mirrored the sound of mid-90s Detroit.
While pursuing other interests/groups, expanding on the growth of Detroit Techno, Horton left the group. Upon the untimely death of Engineer/Keyboardist, Gerald Sims, regularly mentioned in memorandum and liner notes, left Tucker (now the group’s sole member) to continue the legacy as a solo act/persona by multiple tours, releases & representation to a global audience and multitude of fans of Detroit techno produced by one of it’s favored sons. Including productions on several labels: Omnisonus, Delsin, Diametric, Tresor, Psychotrill, and his own Puzzlebox recordings.

Keith Tucker has branded his craft into a vision of dramatic, as well as rhythmic, movie themed scores that focus on the future; and challenges the mindset to evoke emotion into dance music.
